THE DJ DIARY

Insiproachan - 'The Inspirato' - Part Two
By: David Ace of YM

Ace Cinelli and Cinelli Hair proudly bringing you part two of 'Inspriroachan'

SHAMELESS PLUG: Part Two of Inspiroachan is brought to you by Cinelli Hair. If you want to be Cinellisized, there’s only one place to go.  If you want your hair looking good, there’s only one man to do it, PEE - TER.  That's 2376 Bloor St W.  Tell them Ace Cinelli sent you and Peter will wash your hair extra sexy conditioner! And btw he also does Miss Raquel’s locks. Moving on…

I always tell people, Nathan Barato your favorite DJ until you meet Nathan, then he's your favourite Nathan.  That's kind of how I got inspiroached.  You see, it was the 'music trading', the conversations about life, music and women. It was seeing the man at my mother's wake, it was road trips to Montreal and Kingston and musically and emotionally connecting with this man whose inspiroached me.

When it came time to buy my first DJ equipment, who did I ask to help me out?  Yup.  Baratcho (Nathan Barato)!

I had gone into an equipment store... and the clerk tried to sell me a crappy mixer for a whole lotta cash. I told him OK as long as he could sell it to my buddy on the phone.

He said sure and asked me who was on the phone, and I told him Nathan Barato. The clerk then told me he could sell me something else, but I told him to sell it to the gentlemen on the phone. After making his pitch he handed me back the phone and Nathan simply mumbled, 'Bro, leave.'

DJ Tim Patrick later sold me decks and a mixer after Nathan called ahead and hooked it up.  A year later I made my DJ début alongside Nathan at Hotel Boutique

Is this what's made him an inspiroachan?  Yes in-part. I respect him as an individual and as a friend he's 'ace' (pardon the pun) and as a DJ mentor. I mean who else do I wanna play like?  That's not the main component though...

That you'll find in part three {cue cheesy soap opera ending music}

A few Nathan Barato productions that are just sick!

“Know When it Feels Right (Na Na Barato remix)” and “Tribalicious - Nathan Barato's We We We-Mix”.
