Fashion Rant - The Stench of Patchouli Oil
By: Zelda Knows
They, who ever they are, make perfume for a reason. Essential oils on the other hand are made for massage oils, face and body care, homeopathic remedies and for medical reasons and are not to be worn as perfume!
I can smell this stench from a mile away who is wearing Patchouli! For this where my real rant lies. For the love of God wear Exclamation! If you must, although it’s still vile, it smells ten times better!
Patchouli is an essential oil used for soothing, calming and should be used sparingly. It has a musky, earthy, exotic aroma made to soothe and lifts the spirit by way of homeopathic remedies or even incense. Not by splashing it on as perfume!
It’s also used to sooth to the skin, especially for mature or blemished skin and can be used on the scalp for dandruff. So, why would anyone want to use it as a perfume?
In Asian countries it’s used to scent clothing and linens since it repels fleas and lice(Did you read that? It repels fleas and lice!).
It’s an oil commonly used in perfume and blends well with sandalwood, geranium, clove, lavender, rose, neroli, bergamot and clary sage.
You just read it’s commonly used as a perfume! This is why it’s blended because it’s simply stinks when used alone!
So with this lesson in perfume etiquette spare $10-$20 for Cologne bodies spray…may I suggest Marshmallow?
