CD TRACK REVIEWS

Carlo Lio - "A New Day"
CD Review By: Miss Raquel

Now when you get this CD, and I suggest you do pay attention to track #1 it’s called, “Spam Bot” and I do mean pay attention.

You see it has a truthful, scary element to it, or at least it does for me. See it’s all about getting too high or whatever and leaving yourself in someone else’s hands, or maybe you senselessly end up there.

Don’t expect “a new day” to be hard thumping after-hours heavy peak-time beats. It’s minimal, but with thick, thumping basslines to keep you going.

My other fav is track 11, Harry Axt – “Starlight”. It has female’s haunting voice speaking over this insane bassline so deep and dark I envision a long dark hallway and I’m walking down it as it’s darkness surrounds me and I hear the click of my shoes upon the cement floor and I hear this female voice saying from behind one of the closed doors along the hallway, “don’t stare at me!”

Yeah! Scary, but ever so awesome, Great pick!

And you will know track 14, it’s Gregor Threshor - “A thousand Nights”.

This CD is tight, as tight as a popcorn popper and the programming? Well hell it’s Carlo Lio. Man he has the gift of the tables and the ear for what meshes.

Be sure to check out this review on “electronica” only bpm:tv – “Canada’s only dance channel.

Carlo Lio’s A New Day, I give it 4/4 beats.
