SCENESTER SECRET NIGHTS

Dancing Up a Storm of Sand and Surf w/Chus and Cebellos
By: Diana Lee

I’ve been to a few Chus and Cebellos events and every time without exception it’s like stepping onto an island paradise. A huge row of yellow floodlights backlit the dynamic duo and bathed the music worshippers on the dancefloor. The smooth sounds permeated your skin and senses making you feel as if you were lost on the shores of Ibiza dancing up a storm of sand and surf.  The décor was simplistic and minimal with leafy faux palm trees lining the stage. The Docks was a perfect venue for this party and offered you a little bit of everything in each room.

The crowd was an eclectic mix of straight buff party boys and buxom babes with a definite gay contingent and if you looked really hard there were a handful of T-girls (transsexuals) working the crowd. I love seeing a mixed crowd like this, where people are out to just have fun with friends regardless of their orientation or if they are boys who like to wear dresses and look fabulous doing it.

Hopefully this is a sign of the times.
